EPAT - HEEL PAIN (PLANTAR FASCIITIS)
We treat a lot of heel pain or plantar fasciitis in our office. Many of the symptoms include pain when you first get up in the morning, burning, numbness and increased symptoms by the end of the day
EXTRACORPOREAL PULSE ACTIVATION TREATMENT FOR HEEL PAIN
Many patients come to our office with heel pain, Achilles tendonitis and multiple types of sports injuries. What we are doing is a treatment called EPAT (Extracorporeal Pulse Activated Technology ). It works by using intense pulses of sound waves to break up the scar tissue and increase blood flow to the injured area. This helps to reduce inflammation, relieve the pain and stimulate the body's own healing processes.
The procedure is performed in our office, and patients experience no down time. After the treatment, many patients experience immediate relief from their symptoms which continues to improve with subsequent treatments over a 3-5 week period. We see a high level of successful outcomes using EPAT especially when traditional conservative treatments have not been effective.
Since we treat many athletes, I can really appreciate new non-invasive treatments like EPAT that helps keep my patients out of surgery and back in the game. So, if you're experiencing chronic foot and ankle pain, or if you're suffering from an overuse injury, make an appointment to see us to determine if you are a candidate for EPAT.
